We are pleased to share with you perhaps the biggest distinction to date for our cheese creamery and our products.
The International Taste Institute based in Brussels, from 2005 until today has evaluated thousands of products, food and drinks, from all over the world. The Superior Taste Award is widely recognized in the Food & Beverage industry, with a jury made up of leading gastronomy experts, and is perhaps the most prestigious certification of quality and taste worldwide.
The results of our product evaluation for the 2024 Superior Taste Awards are as follows:
- The product Graviera Naxos PDO Pittara 12 months Aging receives the Superior Taste Award with 3 stars
- The Graviera Naxos Pop Pittara product receives the Superior Taste Award with 2 stars
- The product Kefalotyri Naxos Pittara 12-month Aging receives the Superior Taste Award with 2 stars
- The product Xinotiri Fresco Naxos Pittara receives the Superior Taste Award with 2 stars
- Myzithra Glykia Naxos Pittara product receives the Superior Taste Award with 2 stars
- The Graviera Pittara on a Stick product receives the Superior Taste Award with 1 star
As a producer of Naxos PDO Graviera, as a Naxotian and as a Greek, I feel particularly proud of this distinction which comes as a culmination of our hard overall effort on our land, our livestock unit and our Cheese Creamery. It is remarkable that this world-class success came in an admittedly difficult period for cheese makers (breeders and farmers) and proves that when you are faithful to the values and foundations of this family business the result will come.
