Striftaria with cheeses
Ingredients for the dough
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup of lukewarm water
- 1 sachet of dry yeast
- 2 eggs
- 220 gr. Xinotiri Pittaras
- 1 envelope of baking powder
- 3/4 cup corn oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 750 – 780 gr flour (for all uses)
Ingredients for the filling
- 2 cups Xinotiri Pittaras
- 1 cup grated Graviera Naxou Pittaras 12-months matured
- 1 cup grated Graviera Pittaras
- 1 cup grated Graviera Pittaras Mpastouni with basil
- 1 cup grated Graviera Pittaras Mpastouni with oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 pinches bachari (spice)
- 1 beaten egg yolk and sesame seeds
Instructions
Τake balls from the dough and open them on grated cheeses and a little flour, then we twist them and place them in a buttered pan. Spread them with egg yolk, sprinkle with sesame seeds and pour a little balsamic sauce with pomegranate over them. Bake at 170oC for 25 minutes on medium heat.
